Abstract

How does one leadership style and capability would affect the performance of employees and productivity of the business? Some similar industry may practice different leadership style but do have the same or equivalent level of productivity. This research will focus on the contrast of technology companies that practices 2 totally different leadership styles and also emphasis the comparison of 2 big brands in the same industry on their leadership styles and how the brands productivity based on various style of concepts and adapted leadership behaviours through this project research. The target client would be COEs of upcoming technology companies to advise them on how to be a good leader and which leadership style would suit them better.

The differences, comparison, and strategies of 2 brands that will be highlighted are Google and Apple by showing the type of leadership style that is being practiced and how it is resulted based on the case studies of the companys performance and productivity. This is in hope that for client to use this as a problem-solving tool from the outcome of different leadership styles based on the industry they are looking into.

The output of this research would be to show how applicable are the practiced leadership style could be utilised based on the given case study research given.

The research will aim to improve the understanding and comprehension of the roles that leaders play in the organization based on their leadership style. This research will also help client have a better understanding of other types of leadership styles with examples and explanation.

To understand the study of leadership roles, responsibilities and effects on these brands and their productivity levels, case studies and content analysis methodology would be implemented. The impact and effectiveness of leadership styles being practiced by these brands will be shown thru the findings of secondary resources. Industry report, media coverage and existing recorded interviews will be part of the data collection.

Companies in tech sector such as Apple and Google must ensure that they know how to encourage innovation, rule changes and deal with the nature of such companies (Pawar and Dhumal, 2024). Moreover, Google had experienced a significant breakthrough in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, etc. through transformation leadership which has served as an imperative guide in exploring other emerging technologies.

Apple and Google are the examples of how, with visionary CEOs at the helm, being able to alter their routes exponentially, making it possible for them to dominate the market in that technologically focused sector. How does one leadership style and capability would affect the performance of employees and productivity of the business? Some similar industry may practice different leadership style but do have the same or equivalent level of productivity. This research will focus on the contrast of technology companies that practices 2 totally different leadership styles and also emphasis the comparison of 2 big brands in the same industry on their leadership styles and how the brands productivity based on various style of concepts and adapted leadership behaviours through this project research. The target client would be COEs of upcoming technology companies to advise them on how to be a good leader and which leadership style would suit them better.

The differences, comparison, and strategies of 2 brands that will be highlighted are Google and Apple by showing the type of leadership style that is being practiced and how it is resulted based on the case studies of the companys performance and productivity. This is in hope that for client to use this as a problem-solving tool from the outcome of different leadership style

based on the industry they are looking into.

The output of this research would be to show how applicable are the practiced leadership style could be utilised based on the given case study research given.

The research will aim to improve the understanding and comprehension of the roles that leaders play in the organization based on their leadership style. This research will also help client have a better understanding of other types of leadership styles with examples and explanation.

To understand the study of leadership roles, responsibilities and effects on these brands and their productivity levels, case studies and content analysis methodology would be implemented. The impact and effectiveness of leadership styles being practiced by these brands will be shown thru the findings of secondary resources. Industry report, media coverage and existing recorded interviews will be part of the data collection.

I can see your efforts putting into the unit this trimester. In the first three weeks, you tweaked your project plan according to our feedback. However, the final output cant successfully fulfill what you promised in the revised project abstract. It still needs some more work to be a satisfactory research project. First, the project is designed more like an academic research project. We raised the issue when you did the project pitch. For professional research project, we need an executive summary not an abstract. On PP6, you listed research questions and objectives. Unfortunately, due to the weakness of your data collection and analysis, all these questions and objectives could not be well answered. As I commented on your first proposal, it is not possible to answer questions about impact, influence and to what extent as you dont have first-hand data. You will need to design your questions and make them answerable.

Second, for the research method section, it looks very academic and abstract. The paradigm and strategy are not necessary. Your method is case study and content analysis of secondary data. You failed to point out what secondary data you collected for the two companies. Are these data from media coverages of the leaders of the two companies, from their official website? Social media? What data allows you to identify the leadership styles of the two companies? They are very important but are completely missing.

Third, without knowing what data you analysed, your findings are not solid and convincing. The findings should demonstrate in detail the characteristics of the two different leadership styles. But you had very limited data on the two companies and the writing is not logical and persuasive. Therefore, the recommendation does not look reasonable and is not evidence-based.

You will need to make sure what we expect from the research output, understand the differences between professional research output and academic project, know what questions are doable. Moreover, you will need to do careful data collection and analysis. Without data, you cant produce a solid project.

Introduction

The professional research work was named Effective Leadership Style and Strategies for Technology Companies - A Recommendation Report and its objective was to give an overview of leadership in two corporate giants namely Google and Apple. In turn, the project aimed at identifying certain recommendations for the COE leaders by comparing the leadership styles of both companies that operate in emerging technology firms (Baresh, 2022). The purpose of the study was twofold: firstly, to understand the leadership practices that lead to success and innovation of the companies in the technology sector that participated in the study; secondly, to provide insights to the future leaders that can help in adopting best leadership practices.

Self-reflection is the process of analyzing the experiences one goes through while undertaking a certain task. In this reflective essay, I will analyze the process and experiences that were involved in this research project focus on three main themes: the definition of the project, the accumulation and processing of the information, the strengths and limitations of the research project (Chen, 2021). In line with these themes, it is my intention to report on the decision-making processes I undertook, issues encountered and learning from this research.

First, I will outline progress made in the development of the specific research study, explaining how the focus and goals of the research were determined, the scheduling of events, and how obstacles were confronted and dealt with. This section will focus on the utility of project planning and management, and supporting theory (Rasiah et al., 2020). Secondly, I will describe the data collection and analysis phase of the study, outline the method used, the credibility of the data sources and a description of the analysis performed.

In conclusion, I will analyze strengths and weaknesses of the research project, cogitate effects of my research actions, and recommend recommendations for enhancement. Theme 1: Development of the Professional Research Project

The primary research question was to establish the leadership styles that are evident in Google and Apple companies and come up with recommendations for emerging technology companies (Yu, 2023). At the start of this project, I stated specific goals that entailed, understanding the leadership philosophies of the two companies, identifying strategic factors that define success and harvesting this knowledge into useful strategies. Another major issue identified during this phase was the manner in which the broad topic of leadership was defined so that the research could focus on specific, quantifiable aspects of this phenomenon that would be most informative.

Setting definite objectives or targets and attainable schedules are principles of project management. The style I adopted of working, where focus is given to particulars and efforts are made to ensure almost exhaustive coverage interfered with the initial setting of the project scope. A disadvantage of this approach is that it tended to produce comprehensive strategies that could not be realized in the set timeframe (Kuzior et al., 2021). It has the advantage of well-developed and documented results, however, it has the disadvantageous effects of over bogging and lack of time control. Looking at the project from the standpoint of traditional project management, I understood the significance of SMART goals for making a project realistic and achieving.

Managing my project did not go smoothly from the very beginning due to the fact that I did not set achievable objectives and thus faced significant time-management struggles; this marks the significance of maintaining harmony between ambition and possibility (Kwiotkowska et al., 2022).

In reference to my project, using these theoretical concepts could have provided a more systematic way of working on the project. For example, Gantt charts could have been used to show the timeline of the project in a clear manner so as to visualize constraints and better coordinate resources. Moreover, had the project used an iterative approach, which is widely used in managing agile projects, then the project scope would have been reviewed constantly in light of emerging feedback and other challenges.

The following strategies stand out when considering lessons that might help in the planning and implementation of similar projects in the future. First, it is now possible to apply the SMART framework at the beginning of the implementation process to achieve precise objectives that are consistent with the project goals (Liu-Lastres et al., 2023). Secondly, the use of project management tools like the Gantt chart and project management software will improve on the timelines and resource use and thereby improve on the way different tasks are done and the time they are done in.

As well, implementing agile methodologies could bring the element of flexibility into the process of project development, providing for iterative evaluations and modifications. When it came to selecting sources, my attention to details and thoroughness was beneficial in terms of sourcing a large number of potential sources. Balance between the gathering of data and other related information and the evaluation of these data is important. Thinking about this I realized that there was a need to adopt a more systematic way of conducting the selection and evaluation of sources with a view of making the research more reliable.

This paper demonstrates how leadership styles can be thoroughly analyzed through various methods of qualitative research which mainly focuses on the textual data. Thematic analysis works inductively to categorize data in terms of themes, and offers a detailed, complex, and rich description of the data collected. Using this approach helped me to present and analyze the data regarding leadership styles within Google and Apple companies (Tromble, 2021). Besides, when it comes to data reliability and validity in the framework of research studies, triangulation is drawn attention to the use of multiple sources or methods to confirm the information. Applying the triangulation procedure in this project not only increased the reliability of the findings but also came up with a richer picture of leadership approaches of the two corporations.

This approach would help to provide a more comprehensive examination since it would be based on the combined efforts of several researchers.

Theme 3: Successes and Weaknesses of the Research Project

Companies in tech sector such as Apple and Google must ensure that they know how to encourage innovation, rule changes and deal with the nature of such companies (Pawar and Dhumal, 2024). A leadership model that will work in creative turmoil is transformational leadership, which is a visionary leadership, motivating, and empowering management style. Leaders who adopt this style of leadership, not only inspire their team by suggesting a desired future, enhancing creativity in the organization, and enhancing teamwork by effective collaboration, but also, they can set the mood and change periodically (Abdelhak Senadjki et al. (2023)).

Apples CEO at present, who are using transformational leadership technique, is one of the main factors that have helped the company to achieve major wins. Through the creation of a culture emphasizing innovation and teamwork, Apple has strived to break new boundaries in technology, ultimately achieving reinvention in both goods and solutions. Moreover, Google had experienced a significant breakthrough in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, etc. through transformation leadership which has served as an imperative guide in exploring other emerging technologies.

Apple and Google are the examples of how, with visionary CEOs at the helm, being able to alter their routes exponentially, making it possible for them to dominate the market in that technologically focused sector. These firms are the ones that have implemented innovation as a central principle of their internal systems and as a result, they have carved out a culture of never-ending improvement and exploration of what can be achieved in tech.

Moreover, such laudable practice has made of Apple as a leader in the IT industry (Another powerful leadership technique in technology companies is servant leadership, where the placing of workers and their betterment at a point higher than anything is the focal point. The main role of a servant leader is to focus on the team's requirements, to develop an atmosphere for cooperation, and to give to their employees a chance to reach their potential. The leadership personality of the CEO of Alphabet Group, Inc. (which is Google's parent company), Sundar Pichai is shown in opposition to servant leadership through his approachability, teamwork commitment and ethics (Azad et al., 2018). Aiming to improve the state of the arts, under Pichai's guidance, Google has developed robotic and renewable energy technologies, focusing on the interests of employees' quality of life and ensuring diversity at the workplace (Kurzhals, GrafVlachy and Knig, 2020). Transformational Leadership

Transformational leadership style is often associated with a visionary approach, where leaders help their followers to be inspired and motivated by means of a visionary vision of what the future should look like. The study discloses that companies under leaders who carry out transformation perform better, resulting in higher productivity, profitability, and market share compared to others in a similar field (Khan et al., 2020). However, among the various benefits that transformational leadership brings, employee morale, teamwork, and performance rank high and at the top of the list. When diversity is built within the culture of an organisation, a firm base of trust, interdependence, and lifelong learning is developed.

Servant Leadership

Servant Leadership is characterised by putting the people in front of everything which includes the employees' welfare and the development of the people below (ANTONIO et al., 2021). It is indicative that servant leadership focuses on the fact that leaders have been created to serve the people, not on the opposite. Such leadership style concentrates on creating a caring and developing atmosphere where people feel like they are respected, and valued and can reach their highest job performance limit.

One of the most representative traits of servant leadership is its servant-like devotion to its employees (Shoukat Iqbal Khattak et al., 2023). Servant leaders give their employees quality time and provide them with what they need. They do not only care about the satisfaction of their employees at work. Servant leaders are compassionate and empathetic toward their employees. Moreover, servant leaders believe in working with and through other people to build teams and promote cooperation at the organisation (Cai et al., 2018). They strengthen an open and collaborative environment, sharing mutual trust and respect among people. Teamwork culture among the personnel is the motto of servant leaders that helps employees to utilise each other's strengths, together, they can share ideas, and collectively they can succeed in their tasks.

Servant leaders produce a workplace atmosphere of honesty, transparency, and accountability, in which employees feel secure enough to freely share their opinions and proffer their ideas without fear of punishment or abuse.

According by studies, organisations under the leadership of servant leaders perform better and have higher levels of employee satisfaction and retention (Hanif, Baloch and Baig, 2020). Workers remain grateful and highly motivated leading to a feeling of being worthwhile as well as valued and appreciated for their work (Hanif, Baloch and Baig, 2020). Among other things, servant leaders are known for being high performers who attribute superior business outcomes to the fact that as employees are taken into account and engaged in collaborative efforts, the personnel becomes stronger and more creative.

Adaptive Leadership

Adaptive leadership is a dynamic leadership style that concentrates on the process of navigating through change, unpredictability, and complexities within organisations. A strategic nimbleness could result from a comprehensive culture promoted by adaptive leaders who then ensure that their organisations remain competitive and current by staying ahead of the accruing trends.

Interpretivism (hermeneutics) in research is related to the study of meanings, interpretations, and subjective perception (Bonache and Festing, 2020). Seeking to ascertain the logic behind relational behaviour and empowering structures behind human interaction. Linguisticists are aware that man builds reality and interprets it through themselves while their perception and interpretation give them an understanding of the world (Bonache and Festing, 2020). A well-known way qualitative research is conducted within primary research is a semi-structured interview. The interviews are highly interactive and each persons perception of their feelings and experiences on the topic under study can be adequately explored and unveiled through these one one-on-one interactions between the researcher and responders (Borgstede and Scholz, 2021). Using semi-structured interviews, to investigate particular aspects of interest, while interview participants remain flexible to raise an issue that might become relevant out of the common ones (Aspers and Corte, 2019

Thematically analysing data is the data analysis practice in qualitative research. Servant leadership coupled with innovativeness which Mr. Pichai advocates for in his style of leadership conceptualizes the future of technology and that of workers well-being (Tou et al., 2019). These two components of culture-building combined not only explore technological areas but also preserve the humanistic approach of the company's culture. This approach not only boosts Google as being the trailblazer in technological innovation but also an advocate of harnessing a conducive working environment with the leadership doing health checks on the ripple effects corporations have in innovation and the cultural change (Mihardjo et al., 2019).

Leadership styles are pivotal in shaping organisational culture

I care very much about our users, and I strongly believe that if theyre happy over the long term, other things will take care of itself. The core of successful community and team building is the development of a work ecosystem that aims at improving efficiency and creativity (Cortellazzo, Bruni and Zampieri, 2019). Out of many examples, I will use Google culture which focuses on open communication, mutual respect, and collaboration, and demonstrate that positive interactions of the team can contribute to better organizational performance. Barriers and challenges faced in various professional contexts

The presence of such obstacles and barriers is an inevitable fact in all professional fields that can have a significant impact on whether a company will be successful in reaching its objectives (Smith and Ruiz, 2020). Knowing about the resistance that are faced can be of great importance for developing better policies that will help in mitigating the negative impact of the obstacles and strengthening organizational flexibility and adaptability.

Probably the most important difficulties encountered in every enterprise now is technological walls (Smith and Ruiz, 2020). I can see your efforts putting into the unit this trimester. In the first three weeks, you tweaked your project plan according to our feedback. However, the final output cant successfully fulfill what you promised in the revised project abstract. It still needs some more work to be a satisfactory research project. Please see my comments below:

First, the project is designed more like an academic research project. We raised the issue when you did the project pitch. For professional research project, we need an executive summary not an abstract. On PP6, you listed research questions and objectives. Unfortunately, due to the weakness of your data collection and analysis, all these questions and objectives could not be well answered. As I commented on your first proposal, it is not possible to answer questions about impact, influence and to what extent as you dont have first-hand data. You will need to design your questions and make them answerable.

Second, for the research method section, it looks very academic and abstract. The paradigm and strategy are not necessary. Your method is case study and content analysis of secondary data. You failed to point out what secondary data you collected for the two companies. Are these data from media coverages of the leaders of the two companies, from their official website? Social media? What data allows you to identify the leadership styles of the two companies? They are very important but are completely missing.

Third, without knowing what data you analysed, your findings are not solid and convincing. The findings should demonstrate in detail the characteristics of the two different leadership styles. But you had very limited data on the two companies and the writing is not logical and persuasive. Therefore, the recommendation does not look reasonable and is not evidence-based.

You will need to make sure what we expect from the research output, understand the differences between professional research output and academic project, know what questions are doable. Moreover, you will need to do careful data collection and analysis. Without data, you cant produce a solid project.

Effective leadership style and strategies for technology companies a recommendation report

Project Title:

Abstract: (no more than 400 words)

How does one leadership style and capability would affect the performance of employees and productivity of the business? Some similar industry may practice different leadership style but do have the same or equivalent level of productivity. This research will focus on the contrast of technology companies that practices 2 totally different leadership styles and also emphasis the comparison of 2 big brands in the same industry on their leadership styles and how the brands productivity based on various style of concepts and adapted leadership behaviours through this project research. The target client would be COEs of upcoming technology companies to advise them on how to be a good leader and which leadership style would suit them better.

The differences, comparison, and strategies of 2 brands that will be highlighted are Google and Apple by showing the type of leadership style that is being practiced and how it is resulted based on the case studies of the companys performance and productivity. This is in hope that for client to use this as a problem-solving tool from the outcome of different leadership style

based on the industry they are looking into.

The output of this research would be to show how applicable are the practiced leadership style could be utilised based on the given case study research given.

The research will aim to improve the understanding and comprehension of the roles that leaders play in the organization based on their leadership style. This research will also help client have a better understanding of other types of leadership styles with examples and explanation.

To understand the study of leadership roles, responsibilities and effects on these brands and their productivity levels, case studies and content analysis methodology would be implemented. The impact and effectiveness of leadership styles being practiced by these brands will be shown thru the findings of secondary resources. Industry report, media coverage and existing recorded interviews will be part of the data collection.
