ASSIGNMENT 1 FORMAT/LAYOUT GUIDE


This is a format/layout guide to help you structure your assessment. You may use this file (save it under another file name) to complete your assessment. Please ensure that you delete all instructions prior to submission.


SECTION 1: Is about your personal reflections on your online quiz results (see Assessment information document for links). Students are required to think and reflect on your own qualities (interpersonal and intrapersonal skills). Analyse and reflect your results from the tests and discuss how your own behaviour would impact the way you lead and manage people in challenging and dynamic work environments.


The following are suggested headings for this section:

  3. Team Roles Test

  4. Leadership Style Test



  • DO NOT include instruction words in your word document assignment they are just guidance notes to assist you.



  • DELETE the two instructional pages & all the red words in the guide below.



  • One page only for each test discussion, Section 1 = 4 pages maximum for this Section.



  • Reflective writing = it is ok to use first person (i.e. I feel, I think etc).



  • Please submit a Word or .pdf document, in 12pt font, 1.5 line spacing, with standard margins 2.54cm.



  • NO references needed in Section 1



  • NO sub-headings or table of contents needed in Section 1.


Section 2: Is about your reflections of someone you have worked with in a group or team and who was in charge. A leader, supervisor, manager etc. This assessment activity asks you to think, reflect on, an environment a case in which YOU PERSONALLY observed management and leadership interactions (they may have been good, bad, confusing etc). This environment may have been where you work, or worked in places like sporting clubs, social groups, or at a university or a school you attended. You need to think about a time when leadership and management skills were displayed by the people involved, and the strengths and weaknesses which occurred.


Suggested headings for the 4 parts:



  1. Leadership Style

  2. Communication Style

  3. Personality Type

  4. Motivation / Goal Setting Process



  • You need 5 good quality academic journal REFERENCES in each part of this section to support your reflections. 4 parts = 20 references in total minimum.




  • Maximum 1.5 to 2 pages per observation (part) - 8 pages maximum.
