In this assessment, you will explore the role of the registered nurse in various contexts and begin to construct and understanding of the professional responsibilities, roles, and scope of practice of the registered nurse within the Australian health care system.

General Instructions:

Students will work independently, Each student will:

1. Review the Concept map outlining the various roles and functions of the Registered Nurse in Australia
2. Select ONE (1) of the following contexts of nursing care:
   • Residential aged care nursing.
   • Home and community nursing.
   • Rehabilitation nursing.
3. Search for and read a range of evidence and literature to research the role of the Registered Nurse in your chosen context of care.
4. Using the template provided answer the following question:
   Using relevant literature, discuss five (5) of the roles and functions of the Registered Nurse as outlined in the concept map provided and describe how these roles and functions would be demonstrated in your chosen context of nursing care.
