Nutritics Analysis of your own diet: A 3 Day weighed food record
Create a log for yourself in Nutritics
Include all of the options you select when creating your report, i.e. prediction equations, activity levels.
You are asked to complete a 3 Day Weighed Food record for 2 Week days and 1 Weekend day, you can select whichever days you wish.
Please weigh and record in detail similar to Slide 14 everything you consume during these 3 days (Dont forget to include supplements and Water).
Do not alter your normal eating / drinking patterns for purposes of analysis.
If you do not have a weighing scales, please try to estimate as accurately as you can the detail, quantity, and brands of the foods and drinks you consume.
Include in your report whether you have weighed the food or estimated quantities.
Analyse the content of your 3-Day food record using Nutritics Software.
Report Guidelines
Include a word count on your title page.
Methods (200 words max)
Discuss how you dealt with analysis problems that arose
How you overcame them
How you dealt with difficult/challenging entries and the assumptions you made for both methods
Results
Table of actual dietary intake for each of the 3 days.
Table of Macronutrient average of 3Day Weighed food Record, including DRVs (not included in Word count).
Table of Micronutrient average of 3 Day Weighed food record, including DRVs (not included in word count).
Discussion
Discuss your micronutrient results in written format (200 words)
Discuss your intake of fat (100 words)
Discuss your intake of protein (100 words)
Discuss your intake of carbohydrate (100 words)
Discuss your results in comparison to similar populations/athletes/sport to yourself (200 words)
Referencing
Use appropriate references to support your discussion from the scientific literature.
Do not copy chunks of text from papers. Paraphrase the points from relevant papers in your own words.
Do not reference websites or newspaper or online articles.
Only reference peer reviewed articles or books.
Include the impact factor of the journal & number of citations of each article cited.
Use the Harvard method of referencing.
Maximum 900 words (Does not include References or Appendix of your own diet)
Upload your assignment to Moodle and Turnitin.

Discussion 50%
Writing (clarity, concise sentences, grammar & spelling) 10%
References (Minimum of 10 references, Maximum of 20).
