Task 2 is a common task across these subjects:
EYPD201- Curriculum Content and Programming
EYCA301-Arts-based Pedagogy and Practice
EYIT202-STEM in Early Childhood
You must submitonly one copy of your task two, and your tutors will mark it across the three subjects.The purpose of this task is for you to apply your learning from across the three subjects to the task of conductingSTEAM focussed observations and learning experience plans.
The assessment has two parts:
Part A.You are to complete 4 (four) observations of childrens play and learning. These observations can be conducted within a group setting but need to focus on an individual child. You are required to include at least 2 (two) different observational styles.
Please note for those who do not currently work in a service we will provide video stimulus that can be used for conducting observations.
Using a STEAM lens, you are to analyse each observation, including thoughtful links to the EYLF V2.0 and theory;
Include at least 2 (two) follow up ideas on how the childs STEAM development could be fostered (these can be used to inform your plans in Part B). This should include at least one science suggestion and one creative arts (e.g., music or visual arts) for each observation;
Maximum word count 500 words per observation.
Part B.Usingscience and creative arts conceptsas a foundation, you will create two detailed learning experience plans that illustrate rich, responsive (i.e., linked to observations) and developmentally appropriate experiences for the following content areas:
1) One Science-based experience plan
2) One Visual Arts-based experience plan
