Description The task requires students to identify a negative and a positive artefact (for example a magazine or newspaper article, greeting cards, picture from a website, blogs, jokes, etc).
In a narrated presentation, students will discuss healthy ageing and how each of the identified artefacts influence perceptions of ageing.
Use the template provided below to prepare your presentation.
Narration is limited to 2 minutes per slide and should include reference to academic literature.
Length 8 minutes (maximum 2 minutes per slide)

Narration: Explain and discuss the concept of healthy ageing with reference to academic literature.
Slide Presentation: Use dot points to highlight the key points of the discussion. Provide literature reference/s.

Discuss why the image/artefact projects a negative perception of ageing
Discuss how the image/artefact contributes to perpetuating myths and stereotypes of ageing
Discuss the implications of the negative representation on the older person on at least two (2) of the following aspects: physical, mental, social, ethical, political, and economic.

Explain how the image/artefact contributes to breaking down myths and stereotypes of ageing
Discuss the implications of the positive representation on the older person on at least two (2) of the following aspects: physical, mental, social, ethical, political, and economic.

Narration:Using the SPROUT model of reflection and with reference to evidence-based literature, discuss what you have learned about perceptions of ageing and the relationship to healthy ageing.
