Context for question 8 - 11
You work in an organisation which has locations all over the state, which means you do not have ready personal contact to all staff members.
As HR Manager, you have received an email from one of the staff stating they feel unsupported by their manager, and it seems their manager is setting them up to fail by not supporting them. You get in contact with the staff member in response to their email, seeking more information from them so you can then consider what support and action is required. During the discussions with the staff member, they tell you they are having difficulties sleeping, dont really feel focused at work and lack motivation and drive to do a good job. All of this has been further exacerbated by what seems (to them) like a breakdown on what used to be a good working relationship with their manager up to that point.
You need to address this situation before the matter escalates further and this issue then impacts on the wider business and customers.
Question 8
How are you going to gather information about what is happening? What aspects are you going to explore further and with whom?
Question 9
How are you going to support the staff member who made contact? You need to bear in mind the are not readily accessible to you as they work in one part of the business which is 400km away from Head Office.
Question 10
How will you then address this with the manager?
Question 11
Who and how will you communicate and update people? Outline who will be updated and how and when you will undertake this.
