The concept that emphasizes the significance of understanding and valuing children's distinctive abilities, skills, and knowledge is the idea of the child as capable and competent. We can encourage kids to become self-assured, independent, and lifelong learners by designing settings that encourage their social connections, give them chances to participate in worthwhile activities, and let them experiment and explore their surroundings. Children can be empowered to take charge of their own lives and to make significant contributions to their communities and the wider world by being acknowledged as active agents in their learning and development. I will use Loris Malaguzzi's work to illustrate how I consider children to be capable and competent. Italian educator Loris Malaguzzi is recognized for developing the Reggio Emilia method of early childhood education. The idea of the hundred languages of children reflects Malaguzzi's view of the child as capable and competent. Children can express themselves and learn in a variety of ways, including through art, music, movement, and play, which is referred to as one of their "hundred languages." Malaguzzi believed that instructors should encourage and embrace children's natural curiosity and desire to explore and express themselves in ways that are genuine to them. one more factor I want to talk about is child agency. Child agency is the ability to take charge of one's own life and make decisions for oneself. It is essential for their growth and needs to be encouraged by instructors. Ensuring that children have the chance to exercise their autonomy and make significant contributions to their learning and development can be made easier by documenting child agency. The following are four crucial areas to note in child agencies:
Decision-making: Understanding children's interests, preferences, and learning styles can be achieved by documenting their decision-making processes. For instance, a teacher can record a child's decision to select a specific activity or to work with a specific group of kids.
Participation: Keeping track of children's involvement in various activities will help to guarantee that they are enthusiastic learners. This may include keeping track of their involvement in group discussions, contributions to class projects, and participation in decision-making.
Self-expression: Understanding children's thoughts, feelings, and viewpoints can be simplified for educators by recording their self-expression. This may include recording their spoken, written, and artistic expression. Educators can learn more about children's interests, feelings, and mental processes by observing how they express themselves; this information can then be used to improve future learning opportunities.
Reflection: Children's reflections on their educational experiences can be recorded, which can help in developing self-awareness and self- evaluation. This can involve recording their thoughts and feelings regarding a specific activity, their knowledge of a concept, and their learning objectives for the future.
Similar to the fact that it's difficult to force people to develop agency, acknowledging its importance and providing consistent, documented chances
shows a commitment to the goals of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and National Quality Standard (NQS). In conclusion, we can support children in becoming self-assured, self-reliant, and lifelong learners by seeing them as active participants in their learning and growth.

Once I was sitting in the park near my house and there, they had a small arena for skateboarding. I saw a kid around 4 to 5 years of age doing skateboarding and his father was helping and guiding him. Maybe it was his first time, so, he was enjoying and looking thrilled to try skateboarding. His name was Joshua. Joshua wore a black helmet and padding and made his way to the skateboarding arena despite never having it done before and being made aware that he could fall and hurt himself. He began with some easy tricks but quickly developed more courage, trying flips and other acts that demanded greater skill and balance. Joshua often lost control fell off the skateboard and hurt his elbow and knee. Joshua jumped up and attempted again despite the discomfort, desperate to get the right thing. Joshua's willingness to take on new challenges and pushing himself beyond his comfort zone can be considered a positive attribute, even though it may seem risky to some, but it can help them develop strength, confidence, and a sense of success. I was shocked to see such a small child doing this kind of activity which most adults are afraid of because they might hurt themselves. To make sure that the child's risk-taking behavior is not putting them in unnecessary danger, his father and other adults must set reasonable limits and offer supervision.
Four years ago, my sister had her first baby. Her name was Nayra. I am very close to her, so, almost every day I went to my sister's house to meet and play with her. One fine day I went her home, she said Nayra has learned to climb up the stairs. I could not believe it as she was too small for that then my sister said let me show you. So, my sister went upstairs and started calling her name and Nyra was downstairs with me. The moment she heard her mothers voice, she started walking towards the stairs and I was behind her to protect her so that she wouldn't hurt herself. I was totally surprised to see such a small child climbing the stairs without any fear and with such confidence and excitement. So, children are naturally risk-takers I believe.

Children are inherently observant, curious beings who never stop absorbing knowledge from their surroundings. They pay attention to their surroundings, the people, and the things around them as they attempt to understand the world in their unique way. My sister from her childhood has an utter craze for doing make-up and getting dressed up nicely and looking beautiful. So, when she had her first baby, it was a girl. When she grew up to 3 or 4 years of age, she used to watch her mother doing her make-up. As she observes her mother, she also got the curiosity to try it. Now whenever they go outside for a party or function, she tells her mother to do her makeup and even she watches her mother using the brush on her face, she gets the brush and stands in front of a mirror and does the same as her mother. Sometimes it's so funny that they both do the makeup at the same time and each time she observes her mother and what new she's trying.

Once I watched a movie where a child aged 12-13 years was facing some problems in studying. He couldn't spell properly and could not read properly but he was very creative. His painting abilities and thinking were excellent. But his parents thought he did not want to study and doing this deliberately. So, his father decides to send him to a boarding school thinking he might learn something there. But things did not change much for him, everything was same as before. He was not able to cope up. A teacher found out and helped him to overcome all the difficulties and at last there was a painting competition held in the school where all the students and teachers participated and the child won the first price, and his painting was on the cover page of the schoolbook. In general, creative children can think creatively, generate fresh, original ideas, and express themselves in creative, artistic ways. They commonly have a great deal of curiosity and sincerity, and they like to explore and experiment with various options and techniques.
Children aged 4-5 years frequently have a great aptitude for music and movement, and they could utilize their imagination to create new dances or songs. For example, there was a show based on dance where various ages of children show their dance and creative style of passion for dance. I saw a 5-year-old girl dance so well doing all the steps so cleanly and making all the facial expressions. She was so good compared to her age even adults can't dance and make those facial expressions like that. It's all possible because of her parents who encouraged and supported their child to develop their skills and become more confident and creative thinkers over time.
