Constructed Responses Week 3: Operating Standards for School Building Leaders

Thinking back on your coursework and any additional research youd like to conduct, what are the key operating standards for schools that establish high expectations and guidelines for creating learning conditions that meet student needs and achieve state and local educational goals and objectives? Think, too, about how you would implement these standards to ensure successful outcomes for your students, including effective instruction, assessment, and support services that address the diverse needs of your student population.

After identifying the standards, you believe are most important, think of yourself as a school principal. You want to ensure that your school improvement team has a sound working knowledge of these critical standards. As a result, you decide to spend the first few minutes of the next team meeting providing an explanation and overview of the standards. Create a one-page handout to distribute to your team that provides the key takeaways you would want for team members. APA formatting is not required.
