Yourtask

Individually, you are required to write a 1000-word analysis to uncover potential issues in traveller touchpoints.

AssessmentDescription

This individual assessment aims to assess students ability to investigate travellers' touchpointsby identifyingcentralissuesinthetravellersjourneyandbeingabletodistinguishrelevantmotivational factors that underpin the central issues in the travellers journey.

AssessmentInstructions

The details of your hypothetical traveller scenario will be available to students by the end of Week 1 via the Travel Itinerary Generator button located in the Assessments tab on MyKBS. Once the scenario details are accessible, you are required to complete the following tasks:

  1. Conduct additional research to identify eight (8) to twelve (12) significant touchpoints in the travellers journey. Consider the entire travel experience, from the planning phase to post- journey reflection, and evaluate how the specifics of your assigned scenario may influence these touchpoints at different stages.

  1. Based on the identified touchpoints, analyse potential challenges or barriers a traveller (or group)inyourassignedscenariomightTheseissuescouldarisefromcultural, logistical, or situational factors unique to the scenario and must be thoughtfully explored for each touchpoint.

  1. Using the assigned scenario, examine the motivational factors influencing why the traveller

(s)wouldselecttheirdestination.Reflectontheinterplaybetweenthesemotivationsandthe challenges previously identified, analysing how certain motivations might contribute to the issues encountered along the journey.

You must use at least eight (8) sources of information. These may include websites, social media sites, industry reports, census data, journal articles, and newspaper articles. These references should be presented as in-text citations and a reference list at the end of your written analysis (not included in the word limit). Wikipedia and other popular sites are not to be used.

EthicalUseofGenerativeArtificialIntelligence

The assessment tasks in this subject require you to demonstrate your learning, and while the use of generative artificial intelligence is not prohibited at Kaplan Business School, it is important to understand that information generated by GenAI tools, such as ChatGPT, Copilot, and DALL-E, may be unreliable, inaccurate, and incorrect.

Therefore, you must ensure you use these tools cautiously and only as an aid to help you find relevant sources of information or form an understanding of a concept or theory. In doing so, you must acknowledge GenAI use via appropriate in-text citation and referencing.
