The purpose of this assessment task is for you to demonstrate knowledge of two key content areas in this unit. Firstly, how work integrated learning (WIL) can be used as a platform for your professional and career development. The integrated careers and employ ability content in this unit will be advanced in further units; therefore, this assessment task equips you with the building blocks to successfully plan your professional career. Secondly, this assessment task promotes your engagement with the fundamental ethical, legal and regulatory knowledge essential for safe, professional practice and adherence to regulatory and legal requirements within the context of your discipline and inter professional practice.
Task Description
This assessment requires you to work individually to complete the tasks set for you in the Portfolio for HLTH1006 Foundations of Inter professional Health Practice. There are three tasks that you are required to complete for this assessment:
- Identify three strategies that you could undertake during your WIL and discuss how these may promote professional and career development (approx. 350 words).
- Identify two ethical principles/values from your discipline’s code of ethics, and discuss how these may inform safe interprofessional practice (approx. 350 words).
- Choose one of your identified ethical principles and explain how non-adherence may lead to legal or regulatory breaches (approx. 300 words).
To succeed in this assessment, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Insight into how you can utilise the WIL experience as a platform for your professional and career development.
- Knowledge of the ethical principles/values as defined by your profession.
- Comprehension of how your discipline's ethical principles/values guide adherence to regulatory and legal obligations.
- Knowledge of how interprofessional and discipline-specific ethical, legal and regulatory principles, frameworks, and practice standards contribute to safe inter professional practice.
- Inclusion of reputable academic sources. Websites other than reputable journals and .gov sites are not considered appropriate. References should follow the APA7 guidelines for presentation.
Students will need to complete their work using the word template (p. 7-10) on Blackboard and submit via Turnitin.

- This is an individual task. Students must produce their own work and, to avoid unintentional academic misconduct, students should not work together.
- Please read the assessment guidelines carefully.
- Your responses to the three points outlined in the task description must be no more than 1,000 words +/-10% in total. A suggested breakdown of words per task is provided above.
- An introduction and conclusion are not required for this assessment. You are only required to complete the parts on the template (p. 7-10).
- You should include reputable resources in your submission. Websites other than reputable journals and .gov sites are not considered appropriate. Please follow the APA7 style guidelines for in-text citations and your reference list.
