MIDTERM ASSESSMENT

The mid-term assessment is worth 40% of your final grade.


REQUIREMENTS


Topic: Students will select a topic in week 2-3 that highlights major trends and challenges within the HRM landscape, such as AI, employee turnover, employee motivation and engagement, diversity, company culture, work-life balance, employee benefits, etc.

  4. Identification of problem or challenge

  5. Exploration of possible solutions (categorized by scale and timeframe)

  6. Assessment of positive impacts, subsequent challenges, and ethical considerations

  7. Summary/Conclusion

  8. Appendix

Students must write the essay using full, complete sentences. It is highly recommended to proofread the essay a few times.



  1. Length: Essay should be around 1300 These limits vary depending on the topic addressed, and thus are simply a rough guide.

  2. Writing guidelines-Short Essay: Students should write in complete sentence and formal paragraph form. Students are welcome to use graphs, charts, visuals, and/or bullet points (in separate text boxes, not in the essay body) to supplement or enhance the main These should be student-made and not simply copied and pasted from elsewhere.



  1. Resources: Students may reference the course book and lecture notes, as well as any other credible sources; and be sure to cite any outside sources and make sure to only reference credible material.

  2. Independence: This is not a group Any evidence of collaboration will be considered cheating and penalized as such.

  3. Citation: It is necessary to consult the required book and lecture materials to develop the essay. Students may also choose to reference our textbooks for further clarification. All direct references to, quotes from, and paraphrasing (restating in your own words) of the case must be properly cited using the Harvard Referencing Guidelines (Moodle and below). Any direct quotes must be in quotation marks and cited. Students may paraphrase (restate in their own words) material from the class lectures and PowerPoints without citing. However, if you copy the words directly, you must use quotations and cite the lecture material. If the essay is not well-reasoned and sources are not well-cited following Harvard style, plagiarism penalties may apply.
