Detailed information Write a comparative short essay where the Australian healthcare system is compared with the healthcare system of another country (students choice). Students are to focus their comparison on issues of access and equity.
Marking Criteria The short essay critically compares access and equity in the healthcare system of Australia with one other country
The essay draws on scholarly literature (minimum of 4 references) AND lectures from SOWK926 in the argument
UOW Harvard referencing style is used consistently and the content is in line with social work ethics and professional conduct (including spelling, punctuation, grammar and word count)

The Healthcare system comparative essay for Assessment One is to:
Be 750 words long (+/- 10%)
Scholarly references need to be included, such as journal articles and books. Websites that cannot directly source the author (such as Wikipedia) should not be included. News articles where the author can be directly referenced can be included. There should be at least 4 references for a 750 word essay.
UOW Harvard refencing style is to be used.
When writing about a country outside of Australia it is acknowledged that it can be difficult to find scholarly references. Students can utilise alternative sources to support their claims such as newspaper articles or websites. These should be referenced clearly and consistently in line with UOW Harvard referencing style.
Students are to upload their assessments to Moodle with their name, the title of the assessment at the top, and the word count (excluding references).
