OUTPUTS Output 1: All health professionals in the North-West will have up to date information on contraception, the benefits and possible side effects of various methods of contraception and how to manage side effects Activities: 1) Training of hospital staff (maternity, obstetrics, midwives), staff at sexual health/family planning clinics, and pharmacists by health promotion specialists, sexual and reproductive health specialists and public health professionals Output 2: Community level awareness of the benefits of contraception and encourage uptake Activities: 2.1 Baseline focus groups to assess knowledge, acceptability, and intention to use contraception among married and unmarried women of reproductive age 2.2 Development of education programmes based on target audience insight 2.3 Implementation of education programme 2.4 Follow up focus groups to assess changes in knowledge, acceptability, and intention to use contraception among married and unmarried women of Output 3: Spousal involvement in open communication/decision-making regarding family planning and contraception raised.
