Assessment 1 - Class Activities/ Quizzes (15%)

Purpose/Rationale
The purpose of the class activities is to engage you in the content and pre learning for each CLU session.
Adults learn in a variety of ways the most common being Visual, Auditory, Reading/Writing and Kinesthetic (VARK).
The Visual, Auditory and Reading/Writing learning will occur when you undertake the online CLU preparation. The Kinesthetic learning will happen in the CLU session and being able to apply the concepts you learned in the videos, lectures and readings, will increase your understanding.
Task Details
There are five (5) quizzes in total, representing each module, that includes two (2) CLU sessions. Each quiz is available to be undertaken twice - ideally pre and post your scheduled CLU sessions. This is a great opportunity to test your knowledge, and we encourage you to collaborate with your peers in considering your responses.
Your highest score for each quiz, (either pre or post), will be recorded in gradebook.
Quizzes will open 30 January 2023 @ 0900 and will close onMay 29th, 2022 at 2359hrs. You have untilthis date to complete two (2) attempts at each quiz.
As the quizzes are open for almost 4 months, please plan your time accordingly. Attempts after the due date are not permitted.
Instructions
1. Complete online learning and preparation for each CLU session
2. Undertake your first attempt at the quiz for that CLU session
3. Attend CLU session
4. Undertake your second attempt at the quiz for that CLU session

Purpose/Rationale
Thepurposeof this assessment task is to assess the student nurse's ability todemonstrate critical thinking and person-centred care while conducting Nursing Skills.
During your first year, of nursing studies, you acquired the fundamental knowledge and skills required to deliver person-centered nursing care. This semester has further developed those skills and increased the complexity to include a sound understanding of critical thinking and clinical reasoning. While undertaking this assessment you will also be required to apply the concept of person-centered care including, cultural sensitivity and respect for patient preferences,
This assessment task requires you to communicate effectively and practice professionally.
All Nursing Skills to be assessed will be covered in detail in the Clinical Lab sessions, readings, and lectures. You will also, have the opportunity to practice undertaking each of these Nursing Skills as part of the planned CLU sessions. We also, strongly encourage you to practice your nursing skills throughout the semester, as this will help to improve your confidence.

Purpose/Rationale
The purpose of this assessment task is to assess the student nurses' ability to think critically and apply the clinical reasoning cycle to plan patient care.
As a Registered Nurse, you will be required to make judgments and prioritise your patient's care multiple times per shift. This assessment task is designed to develop the sophisticated thinking abilities that are essential to prioritising, planning, and providing safe and effective patient-centred, nursing care.
Task Details
In this Clinical Case Study, you will be allocated a nursing problem statement and will be required to, discuss its relevance, then plan and evaluate patient-centred, nursing care. The nursing problems all relate to Darren Roberts care in thefirst 4 hours of his discharge from PARUand return to the ward following his surgery.
